The FXMA2104UMX is a logic-translator, level shifter integrated circuit. It is commonly used to translate signal levels between compatible logic families in industry applications. The integrated circuit utilizes hot electrostatic discharge protection, as it closes circuits between two different logic circuits within an application.

The FXMA2104UMX functions with FET transmission gates that allow signal switching and level shifting between TTL, 5V CMOS and 3.3V CMOS digital logic families. The integrated circuit is specifically designed for Half-Duplex RS-485 and RS-422 bus systems. The transmission gates are compatible with CMOS inputs, allowing the IC to function within logic families with digital input voltages as low as 0.8 V or 3.3 V.

The FXMA2104UMX provides logic level amplification between 2 different logic families, allowing signal channels to pass into R-terminals of CMOS devices. Moreover, the integrated circuit simplifies bridge designs, as end-users do not need to attach external components that are typically used in the level shifting of signal levels in bridge circuits.
