GAL22V10D-10LJI is a high-density Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) manufactured by Texas Instruments. It is an EEPROM technology-based programmable device composed of an array of Logic Array Blocks, combinatorial and registered Programmable I/O Cells, and Counters. As a CPLD, GAL22V10D-10LJI can be used for system upgradeability, timing, control and configuration functions. The programmable I/Os and logic array blocks can be used for logic, state machine, and system control functions.

Working Principle

The GAL22V10D-10LJI works by creating programmable logic using a combination of logic gates and programmable input/output registers. Its internal logic is composed of two types of logic elements. The logic array block, a group of interconnected logic gates, is used for the logic operations; and the registered programmable input/output (I/O) cells, which are used to control and configure the device\'s built-in registers. The user programs the logic by connecting the interconnects between the logic elements, connecting input signals to the inputs of each logic array block, and configuring the registers as required.

The user defines the behaviour of the CPLD by programming the logic array block for logic operations and configuring the registers for input/output operations. The logic array block allows the user to define the logic to be executed using standard logic gates such as AND, OR, XOR, NAND and NOR. The registers are used to configure the device\'s built-in I/Os so that when an input signal is received, the CPLD can autonomously execute the appropriate logic operation. The GAL22V10D-10LJI is then able to output the results of the programmed logic.
