Terminal Blocks - Barrier Blocks are widely used in industrial, commercial and residential applications. The GBFTAX-20’s working principle is based on a pair of terminal blocks, each with a separate open-style ground conductor. The primary block contains a main terminal to which all the loads are connected. The other block contains a secondary terminal connected to the ground conductor. The primary and secondary are connected through a series of copper strips. The connection between the blocks is via a positive and negative jumper.

When the voltage is applied to the primary block, it creates an electrical field between it and the ground conductor, which provides a current path for the electrical current to flow, passing through the copper strips. This current flows in one direction and is limited by the capacitance between the two blocks. The capacitance creates a “dead spot” where the current cannot penetrate, protecting against overvoltage and over current. In addition, the capacitance also helps stabilize the system and prevent electrical noise.

The grounding conductor on the secondary block is connected to the primary block via the positive and negative jumper. It provides a ground path for the current to flow, protecting devices connected to it and preventing the voltage from exceeding the level of the primary block. The ground conductor also helps reduce power dissipation and decrease noise.
