Working Principle

When AC voltage is applied over the GBPC1208-E4/51 bridge rectifier, it produces an electrical path only when the anode of each individual diode is exposed to a positive voltage. As the AC voltage goes positive, it results in the positive voltage being fed onto the anode of D1 and D4, which closes the conducting path for current flow. During a reverse cycle, current flow is blocked due to the conducting path being removed from the anode of D2 and D3. As the cycle is repeated, current flows through only one direction, providing a unidirectional current, thus functioning as a bridge rectifier.
