Diodes - Bridge Rectifiers are solid-state devices which consist of two or more diodes that are interconnected in the form of a bridge. GBPC3502 bridge rectifiers are used to convert AC voltage from the AC line into DC voltage after rectification. The GBPC3502 is a full-wave diode bridge rectifier in a compact plastic package.It can be used in medium-power AC-DC rectification and several other applications, such as power supplies, DC motors and automotive electronics. The GBPC3502 is available in a variety of packages, including PGBK (plug-in), LFBK (plug-in with base) and SMD (Surface-Mounted Device).The working principle of the GBPC3502 involves the rectification of an AC voltage waveform. When an AC voltage is applied to the diode bridge rectifier, the diodes conduct current in the positive half-cycle of the input waveform and do not conduct in the negative half-cycle. In this way, the AC voltage is converted into a pulsating DC voltage.The output of the bridge rectifier is a pulsating DC voltage with a ripple frequency equal to the frequency of the AC source. The ripple frequency is the frequency of the alternating current source divided by the number of diodes in the bridge rectifier. The amount of ripple voltage is mainly dependent on the loading factor.The diodes of the GBPC3502 bridge rectifier are fast recovery and have a low leakage current and a low forward voltage drop. A fast recovery diode has a lower reverse recovery time, which means that it will switch quicker than a normal diode and so the power losses are lower.The GBPC3502 bridge rectifiers have a maximum current rating of 350A, a maximum reverse voltage of 1000V and a voltage rating of 1000V. It is also available with a surge current rating of 1500A and a temperature coefficient of 350ppm/°C. The package size is 4.7 x 4.7 x 2.7 mm.The GBPC3502 is suitable for use in low-power applications such as battery chargers, AC-DC converters and general purpose power supply.
