Working Principle

The GBU15K Bridge Rectifier works by converting AC input voltage to DC output. It consists of four diodes connected in a Bridge Rectifier configuration, as shown in the figure below:

The bridge rectifier circuit allows both positive half cycles and negative half cycles of the ac input voltage to be used for producing DC output. The current flows from the positive output terminal of the voltage source, through the lower left diode, the lower right diode, and then back to the negative output terminal of the voltage source. During the positive half cycle, the upper left diode will be reversed biased, and the upper right diode will be forward biased. During the negative half cycle, the diode polarities will be reversed so that the upper right diode is reversed biased and the upper left diode is forward biased. This allows the bridge rectifier to convert both positive and negative half cycles into a unidirectional current.
