Components of GMB8UB
The GMB8UB consists of two wideband antenna elements, a low noise amplifier (LNA), and a dual polarized power splitter. Each GMB8UB element is designed to cover the Frequency band between 137 and 512 MHz and has a gain of 8-9 dBi. The dual polarized power splitter allows each element to be selectively switched to either Horizontal or Vertical polarization, providing the antenna with a total gain of up to 16-18 dBi.
Working principle
The GMB8UB is designed to provide increased gain and efficiency over comparable wideband antennas. The GMB8UB antenna system operates by using a low noise amplifier (LNA) to amplify the incoming signal. The amplified signal is then split into two polarized signals by the power splitter. The polarized signals are then fed into each of the antenna elements which each produce their own electromagnetic field and radiates the incoming signal in the desired direction.
The antenna elements are designed to provide a high level of directional resolution, isolating different aspects of the incoming signal. This enables the GMB8UB to produce a higher level of gain and signal fidelity than comparable wideband antennas.
