The GN2013ACNE3 clock generator is a part of the family of Generalplus GN2013 clock generator IC series that is designed to provide a wide range of frequencies from DC to 250MHz. This family of clock generators offers high performance, fast switching times, excellent jitter and noise performance, low power consumption and high accuracy over a variety of RF, digital, ADSL and precision data timing applications. It can be used as a jitter attenuator, clock multiplier, frequency divider, as well as for pulse delay generation and/or pulse width modulation (PWM) applications.
The GN2013ACNE3 is designed with CMOS technology and is capable of operating at an input frequency of up to 24 MHz. It employs advanced clock synthesis techniques to produce highly accurate clock signals with selectable duty cycles. The GN2013ACNE3 is capable of generating two sets of clock signals simultaneously while providing an adjustable output duty cycle. Moreover, it offers reduced propagation delay, improved frequency resolution and extremely low jitter performance.
The clock generator also supports an array of on-chip features including programmable clock divider/multiplier values, input-clocking frequency select and a wide range of output frequencies. It additionally features programmable phase offset, blanking and cycle count. The GN2013ACNE3 also offers an adjustable duty cycle, both positive and negative, to support a variety of frequency modulation (FM) and phase modulation (PM) applications. Furthermore, this clock synthesizer is optimally suited for precision applications such as frequency synthesis, pulse width modulation and pulse delay generation.
When it comes to working principles, the GN2013ACNE3 is a dual-input clock generator based on a fractional-N PLL approach. This approach implements a fractional-N frequency synthesis technique that combines two noise-immune frequency dividers with a single loop filter. This allows it to produce two independent, frequency-dependent and adjustable output clocks while still having a common input frequency. Additionally, it comes with a synchronous power-down feature that allows it to reduce the output frequency when there is a lack of input clock, or when the input clock is out of range.
The GN2013ACNE3 also incorporates programmable cycle and blanking functions to offer additional adjustments. The cycle count function allows the IC to generate two independent output signals, while the blanking function allows it to prevent false output signals from occurring. Finally, the GN2013ACNE3 is a highly efficient clock generator and exhibits excellent jitter performance of 1ps RMS jitter in the output frequency range of DC to 250MHz.
