GSP2.8003.13 Application Field and Working Principle

The GSP2.8003.13 series is a range of 10A/16A power entry connectors specifically designed for product safety. The range consists of inlets, outlets, modules and cord clamps which provide a safe disconnection between the appliance’s power supply and mains socket under hazardous conditions. The products are certified by SEMKO and VDE, proving suitability for use in global markets including Europe, USA and Japan.

Safety is integral to GSP2.8003.13 series so components must comply with high temperature, current and impact tests. Construction materials include solid moulded thermoplastic insulation, copper alloy contacts and quarter turn locks which combine to ensure the highest levels of safety.

The range provides a complete power entry connector solution to the design engineer. The inlets and outlets provide full compatibility between appliance and mains sockets thanks to a range of voltage and frequency options. Socket options include C8, C14 and C16/C17, US, UK and European shrouded plugs and outlets. The connector also offers better heat dissipation and low contact resistance to ensure maximum efficiency.

The GSP2.8003.13 series has three different mounting options. Panel mount outlets are ideal for large scale moulded plastic appliances. Cable outlets are a cost effective solution when a quick disconnect system is required, and also feature a vibration resistant mounting. Meanwhile, the chassis outlet is designed for mounting directly into the appliance.

The modules, available in 2, 3 and 4 pole variants, offer protection from overvoltage, earth leakage and shock hazard. The modules include a greater insulation clearance and creepage distance for improved safety and are available in a range of configurations. The various module terminals are labelled for simplified wiring.

Finally, the cord clamps provide the perfect accessory for the GSP2.8003.13 series. They feature high temperature, flame retardant thermoplastics and are suitable for a range of mains leads. The cord clamps are also UL listed and RoHS certified.
