Working Principle

H11AA1-X009 consists of an LED that is optically coupled to a high-gain silicon planar phototriac output transistors. This trigger will cause the gate of the phototriac to turn "ON," and the sink current will flow from the drain to the source, which turns the output "ON" or "OFF."

The output of the optoisolator consists of two pins: the output pin and the common pin. The output pin is the output signal. When the output pin is connected to the common pin, the optoisolator is OFF. When the output pin is connected to power (switched ON), then the optoisolator is ON. When the LED is turned "OFF," the phototriac will turn "OFF" and the sink current stops flowing, which causes the output to be OFF.

The output of the H11AA1-X009 can drive up to 500mA load. The two pins of the optoisolator can be configured to provide either two complementary outputs (SPST) or two independent outputs (DPST).
