Optoisolators - Transistor, Photovoltaic Output provide optoelectronic isolation between two systems. To achieve this isolation, H11B33SD optoisolators utilize two independent components. The first component is an infrared diode emitter that transmits infrared light to an phototransistor or photovoltaic detector. The Second component is either a phototransistor or a photovoltaic detector which receives the infrared light.The typical H11B33SD optoisolator device contains an LED mounted in a molded package, coupled to a phototransistor responding device which is encapsulated in a second molded portion of the housing. The phototransistor is encapsulated in a clear acrylic casing which serves to protect the sensitive semiconductor junction from adverse ambient conditions. The photosensitive element of the optoisolator typically consists of a PIN diode which is highly sensitive to infrared light.H11B33SD optoisolator works in the following way: Electromagnetic signals from the input source pass through the LED portion of the optoisolator.
