Time Delay Relays

Time delay relays are electrical relays whose window of operation is determined by a timing element. While these devices were once entirely electromechanical in nature, the increasingly widespread use of the microprocessor has lead to their most common current form being a solid state digital device, interlocked with an SSR or mechanical output.The purpose of a time delay relay is to provide a delay under certain conditions. For instance, in an HVAC application, the motor may need to be kept running for a certain period of time in order to properly heat and cool the environment. A time delay relay can be used to delay the start of the motor, or to keep the motor running for an additional set amount of time. It can also be used to provide a circuit with a safety mechanism, in which the delay prevents an overload of equipment that may not have been designed to handle a sudden surge.The H2C-F-AC24-B is a time delay relay designed for use in a wide variety of applications, ranging from HVAC control to industrial automation and process control. It also features an energized reset, which enables the delay to be reset at any time, while the power is still on.
