The H3LIS200DLTR is a MEMS-based linear accelerometer module manufactured by STMicroelectronics. This high-performance device provides accurate, high-resolution acceleration measurements in three-dimensional space along two linear axes and one rotational axis – simply known as x, y and z. Utilizing an anisotropic magneto-resistive (AMR) sensing element and built-in signal conditioning circuitry, the H3LIS200DLTR is capable of performing high resolution, high speed, and low-noise acceleration measurements with millisecond response times.

Working Principle

The device features user-programmable parameters to enable a range of convergence strategies: from low-power, low-noise yet slow response times, to high-power, optimally-noisy but very fast responses.

The device also features an integrated temperature sensor which allows the temperature of the system to be monitored and compensated for. Furthermore, the magnetic field strength of the external environment is monitored and can be used to accurately determine the magnitude of external acceleration being applied to a component.

In short, the H3LIS200DLTR works by using the magneto-resistive sensing principle, which is based on the change in the resistance of an AMR element driven by the external magnetic field. Through sophisticated signal conditioning, the supported linear acceleration along the two linear axes and the rotational axis is calculated, monitored, and captured.
