HCPL-543K is a type of optoisolator, which is designed to provide logic-level electrical isolation of a microcontroller or logic system from other systems. It provides galvanic isolation of up to 5kV, which is capable of blocking and isolating high-voltage or high-energy signals, such as electric noise or transient voltage surges, from passing through to the protected system. Due to its electrical isolation capability, this optoisolator can help to prevent ground loops and reduce the risk of system malfunction and potential damage of components.

The component is an integral package of a gate-drive Optocoupler, with an output transistor built-in to drive up to 200mA of load per channel.
