The HCPL-7560-500E is an analog optoisolator with digital communication interface device. Designed specifically for digital communication applications, it provides nearly six hundred microseconds of isolation--nearly twenty times the breakout voltage--to ensure total isolation of digital circuitry from its analog equivalents while still guaranteeing a high-speed optical link. Even more, when compared to digital optocouplers, HCPL-7560-500E devices offer twice the digital isolation, making them ideal for applications where safety and digital isolation are key.

Analog optoisolators like the HCPL-7560-500E serve many purposes. In a data acquisition application, for example, the device isolates the analog signal from other circuitry and can protect against ESD, preventing any damage from occurring to other components on a PCB.
