The HI5860IB is a low power, monolithic CMOS integrated circuit that functions as an 8-Bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). It is used in sensor and instrumentation applications, especially in industrial process control, which requires the conversion of digital information to analog signals.
The HI5860IB features two independent DACs and utilizes a single supply voltage. It is capable of simultaneously converting two 8-bit digital words into two analogoutputs, as well as providing a single low-power reference voltage output for use in analog-to-digital conversions.

To minimize the reference voltage distortion, the HI5860IB employs a voltage reset circuit to reset the reference voltage back to its initial level when 8-bit resolution is used.
The HI5860IB operates over a wide temperature range and features on-chip logic that provides a digitally selectable reference voltage range. The device also includes a 4-bit output enable function that allows for greater control of the analog outputs.
The HI5860IB is ideal for applications that require low power consumption, wide temperature range, and improved performance. It is suitable for use in Process Control, Sensor Instrumentation, and Motor Control systems, among other applications.
