HIN241IBZ is a type of industrial transceiver integrated circuit developed by Intersil Corporation. It is a cost-effective solution, with a wide range of applications in industrial systems, such as HVAC, mobile machinery, vehicle monitoring and control.
The HIN241IBZ provides 3 distinct functions – an isolated RS-232 transceiver, receiver and driver. The transceiver operates at the full RS-232 signal levels, with a data rate range of 9.6 to 56 Kbps. It provides galvanic isolation between the transceiver, receiver and driver. This protects the signal from interference caused by ground loops.
The transceiver is designed for a wide range of industrial applications that require communication between equipment connected to signal systems and host computers. It also has an active circuitry that provides signal matching between different signal systems. This reduces the cost of designing a signal system and provides flexibility when designing applications.
The receiver and driver consist of three low impedance active outputs and one high impedance input, with a signal sensitivity of up to ±12V. The receiver provides two modes of operation – the first is full-duplex mode enabling communication with up to 256 bytes. The second is a data burst mode for up to 512 bytes of information. The driver provides a variable output gain, allowing for maximum flexibility in application design.
The HIN241IBZ industrial transceiver is designed for use in a wide range of applications, including HVAC systems, motor control, automotive and industrial network communications, and vehicle tracking and control.
