Working Principle of HMC603MS10

The HMC603MS10 comprises a single monolithic assembly and consists of active circuit blocks filtered by a high performance matching network and a dc bias network. Radio frequency (RF) input signal is divided between a main switch, attenuator, and a digital to analog (DAC) switch. The RF signal is then routed through the DAC switch and the attenuator. The output of the attenuator is then routed to the RF output of the chip. There is also a feedback loop which uses a voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA) to control the gain or attenuation of the device. The VCA is connected to the DAC which generates a DC control voltage for the VCA. This control voltage is generated from a single control voltage applied to the control input of the chip.
