RF switches are used in a wide variety of applications, from the military and aerospace industry to embedded and wireless systems. The HMC641 is a highly reliable, cost effective, low noise, high performance RF switch designed to provide an efficient solution for switching multiple signals between two or more ports. The HMC641 was designed for active antenna switching, as well as other high performance applications.
The HMC641 is a MIL-PRF-32565 qualified 1×8 and 8×1 RF switch with bandwidths of 30 MHz to 6 GHz and insertion loss of only 0.5dB. It is designed to handle high power of up to 20 Watts in a temperature range of –55°C to +105°C. The RF switch is built on a 0.5”x2”x2” ceramic substrate and is a Class. D & Q conforming product. The RF Switch is thoroughly tested for electrical and mechanical performance, and is supplied with full component labeling to ensure optimum system integration.
The HMC641 RF switch is designed to control the signal paths in wireless systems more efficiently. It has an integrated attenuator that allows each signal path to be attenuated in a range of 7 dB. Moreover, it does not require external energy for switching operations. The low power requirements and low insertion loss makes it a very suitable choice for mobile and satellite communication applications. The RF switch also includes a control logic circuit which can be used to set up the switching configuration and can be controlled by either a digital or analogue signal.
