RF mixers have become fundamental components in radio frequency systems. This is especially true with the HMC815BLC5, which has a wide operating frequency range from 1 to 3 GHz with an insertion loss of < 9 dB. It also boasts low power consumption, and a high linearity of 19 dBm IIP3.
The HMC815BLC5 operates as an up/down-converting mixer to route radio frequency signals between its RF input port and its IF output port. The RF port is located between 1 GHz and 3 GHz, while the IF output can be either single-ended (at a frequency of 45 MHz) or differential (at either 15-216 MHz). The mixer is an internally-terminated diode ring mixer to ensure stable operation and reliable performance.
