The HV9963NG-G-M901 is an innovative, high-performance and cost-effective integrated PFC and LED driver solution. This PMIC-LED driver is designed to provide both Power Factor Correction (PFC), and Current Source converter (CSC) functions, combining them into a single integrated solution. In addition, it supports multiple system operating modes including boost, buck, quasi-resonant, discontinuous conduction, as well as other mode options. With the ability to monitor both current and voltage, the HV9963NG-G-M901 can provide a high efficiency and reliable LED lighting system.

Application Field

The HV9963NG-G-M901 is ideal for a wide range of lighting applications such as ceiling lighting, high bay lighting, wall lighting, directional lighting and decorative lighting. This PMIC-LED driver is also suitable for high power LED application and non-isolated LED lighting systems. It allows flexibility for different lighting design that requires a wide input voltage range and various operating modes, without the need of an external current sensing. With the dimming interface, it is able to support both Analog and PWM dimming.

Working Principle

The HV9963NG-G-M901 uses the latest integrated PFC-LED driver technology to convert the input voltage into a high efficiency, predictable, and smooth output current. It uses a power stage with a synchronous switch such as MOSFET that regulates the current in the output. The PFC circuit converts the input voltage into a low-ripple, high power factor voltage that is needed for the output current. With the PWM scheme, the PFC controllers switch on for a certain period of time and the boost controller adjusts the peak MOSFET voltage during a cycle, respectively.

The integrated current source mode allows the HV9963NG-G-M901 to handle the conversion of input voltage to the required output current.
