Proximity sensors are used to detect the presence of an object without coming into physical contact with the object. They are commonly used in applications that require safety and avoidance of mechanical parts and contact. They detect the presence of objects by detecting their energy field or detecting motion or a change in physical position. Proximity sensors use a variety of technologies to do this, including ultrasonic, electromagnetic, induction, reflective, and eddy current.

IA30FSF10PO Application Field and Working Principle

The IA30FSF10PO Proximity Sensor is an inductive absolute-angle-measurement sensor especially developed for position-measuring applications in the automotive industry. It is suitable for use in both rotating and linear measuring applications as a single- or multi-axis solution.

This Proximity Sensor works on the principle of electronic digital position measurement in an absolute angle-measurement system. It uses the principle of magnetic induction with a transmitter-receiver combination of two coils that form the loop. This magnetic induction creates an alternatingMagnetic field which is detected by a capacitive receiver coil in the sensor. The signal output is then converted into a digital output signal.

The transmitter coil is combined with an integratedinverter which can be used to measure the absolute angle of the sensor’s controller. The output signal of the receiver coil is used to provide an analog voltage signal corresponding to the angle of the transmitter coil.
