Working Principle
ICB18L50N14NOM1 is a linear type inductive nature proximity sensor and it works with operating voltage range of 5-30 VDC. Its response frequency is 163Hz. This sensor belongs to a categorized family of inductive proximity sensors which detect and identify metallic objects without being in contact. The inductive type proximity sensor activates in the presence of an electrically conductive or ferromagnetic material in the magnetic field generated by inductance coil. This type of sensor consists of two main parts – a sensing head and an electronic interface. The sensing part is kept close to the target material and it converts the electric energy into a magnetic energy and vice versa. The sensing head needs electrical power while it generates alternating magnetic field. The sensing head then senses the changes in the field and it signals the electronics interface part. The electronics part processes the signal and sends it in various forms depending on the application. In some cases, the feedback provided by the electronics part is a change in current, or a change in voltage, or a pulse output signal.Application Field
