This switch is programmable, offering multiple primary control options, full-load efficiency up to 99% and integrated power components. Its high power factor and low THD make it the ideal choice for many applications.
Application Field
The ICE2QR2280Z1XKLA1 is highly suitable for offline LED lighting, LED drivers, LED TV, LED lamps, LED drivers and LED bulbs applications. This switch offers up to 12 A of continuous output current at 240 VAC as well as an adjustable switching frequency of up to 200 kHz for improved efficiency and reduced EMI. Furthermore, it can be applied in implementing flyback, forward and quasi-resonant SMPS topologies.
Working Principle
The operating principle of the ICE2QR2280Z1XKLA1 is based on an auto-restart topology, which is an improved version of the standard flyback converter. The basic circuit consists of input rectification, a voltage/frequency control with reset, an auxiliary winding and rectifier, a reset synchronizer, an error amplifier, PWM modulator and a main switch. The switch is opened based on the control signals and when the voltage on the output reaches the required level, the switch is closed to allow current to continue flowing. At each switching operation, the voltage across the secondary winding is monitored and the current loop is adjusted accordingly, ensuring excellent regulation.
The ICE2QR2280Z1XKLA1 offers several features that make it suitable for high-power-factor and green-power applications. It is designed with a built-in OTP (Over Temperature Protection) which shuts down the converter in case of over temperature, improving system reliability. Moreover, the switch is provided with a low standby power consumption providing a low cost, versatile and efficient solution for many applications.
