A single integrated package provides a full range of control functions as well as an energizing pulse-width modulated (PWM) output for performing two-phase regulation. The ICL7662EBD+ is a member of a new class of DC-DC regulators that provide a single-chip solution for the low-noise, high-power, precision-regulated DC output requirements of intermediate-to-high current static power supplies. Additionally, the ICL7662EBD+ is a low-power, low-noise device that can be used in battery-powered applications requiring frequent cycling of the power supply. The ICL7662EBD+ is one of the most widely used voltage regulators in the world, due to its reliability and its versatility.The ICL7662EBD+ delivers a constant voltage output with a wide input voltage range of 4.5 to 35 volts. It also provides an adjustable current limit of up to 25 amps, allowing it to be used for light load applications as well as heavy load applications. Furthermore, the ICL7662EBD+ can be configured for different types of DC-DC converters, including synchronous (step-down) and SEPIC (step-up/step-down) topologies. Although traditionally used in step-up transformer configurations, the ICL7662EBD+ is well-suited to be used in step-down DC-DC applications, due to its high current rating, low noise output and exceptional efficiency.The main application of the ICL7662EBD+ is for static power supplies. Typical applications include onboard power supply systems, DC input servo power supplies, voltage conversion and correction, rectification and inversion, or programmable dc-dc applications.
