The ICL7662CBD+T is a member of Intersil’s family of Low Dropout (LDO) switches and switching regulator controllers. As such, it can be used to produce regulated, low voltage (up to 5 volts) output from low voltage sources such as batteries. It is a two terminal device with a monolithic P-channel FET as an internal switch and a low current transconductance amplifier as an error amplifier. As a power management IC (PMIC), the ICL7662CBD+T can be used both as a DC-DC converter (switching regulator) and as a linear regulator depending on the application.

When used as a DC-DC converter, ICL7662CBD+T is typically used to generate 5 volts from a 3.3 volt or 3 volt input (or from a higher input). The ICL7662CBD+T combines the low drop-out voltage of an LDO with the high efficiency of a switching regulator, making it a good choice for power management applications.
