The IDTADC1006S055-DB is an analogue-to-digital converter (ADC) evaluation board. It is designed for the evaluation and characterization of IDT’s flagship high speed ADC product family, the ADCs1006/S. This evaluation and characterization board provides the necessary connections and control-circuitry to quickly evaluate the performance of the ADC as well as provide a platform for further development and testing.
The IDTADC1006S055-DB evaluation board is designed to operate in a wide range of application fields. It can be used in imaging, consumer video, automotive, medical, industrial and instrumentation applications. The application range gives tremendous flexibility for the end-user and allows the board to be used in a wide number of applications. The ADCs1006/S family provides highly accurate measurements across temperatures and helps reduce system cost while improving system performance.
The IDTADC1006S055-DB evaluation board features a wide range of features to accommodate various applications. The evaluation board includes four differential inputs and one differential input, eight reference inputs with two selectable reference voltages, one low noise voltage regulator, multiple GPIOs and a single I2C interface for convenient programming and debugging. This board also features a wide range of digital options including programmable gain, test mode, internal voltage reference trimming, and endpoint calibration. The included software on the board allows users to easily customize and configure the settings of the ADC for optimal performance.
The IDTADC1006S055-DB evaluation board works on the principle of Pulse-width Modulation (PWM). It comprises two main functions: sampling and conversion. The ADC samples the input signals and converts them into digital data for further processing. The PWM technique is used to increase the accuracy of the analog to digital conversion as it reduces the jitter on the input signal. Additionally, the board supports over-sampling and averaging to further increase accuracy.
The IDTADC1006S055-DB evaluation board is integrated with an IDTADC1006S055 high performance hybrid switching ADC. This ADC device is capable of achieving a up to 85dB signal-to-noise and distortion (SNDR) ratio with excellent crosstalk rejection at 6.75GHz. This ADC is two-channel with both channels sampled at 0.55GSPS. The ADCs1006/S have exceptional performance in terms of signal-to-noise and distortion, residual offset and phase jitter. The ADC is also fully configurable and provides flexible and highly programmable output signals.
