IFX78M05ABTFATMA1 is one of the products of Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMIC) - Voltage Regulators - Linear. It is a single-channel linear voltage regulator and is particularly suitable for the power supply of single board computers (SBCs) such as Raspberry Pis.

IFX78M05ABTFATMA1 is a 5V to 3.3V linear voltage regulator which is fully compliant with the industry standard PMIC architecture. It has a wide operating voltage range from 4.5V to 16V and can supply up to 1A of output current. It has a current limit of 1.5A and a thermal shutdown temperature of 170°C. The input voltage will rise close to the output voltage when it is at its maximum current output. It also has a low quiescent current of typically 120 µA. Furthermore, the device has built-in protection features such as reverse battery protection, over-voltage protection, under-voltage protection and short-circuit protection.

The working principle of IFX78M05ABTFATMA1 is based on the Buck Rectifier circuit, which is a type of voltage regulator circuitry and is used for providing a steady output voltage over a wide input supply range.
