INA126EA/2K5 Application Field and Working Principle

The INA126EA/2K5 is an instrumentation amplifier that can be used in a wide variety of applications. Working Principle

In the INA126EA/2K5, the first stage is an ultra-low noise, high impedance buffer. This stage is a voltage follower with very low input bias current and low noise. It has a high output current drive capability to drive the second stage. The second stage is also an op-amp, which can have its gain adjusted by the SPAN pin. This pin samples the output of the buffer, and adjusts the gain to be exactly -Vout/Vin. The output of the INA126EA/2K5 is a high impedance amplifier that is fully adjustable over the span of the device’s range.

The INA126EA/2K5 has a low slew rate of 3.3V/μs, a low static phase margin at 1.1V, and a bandwidth of 40kHz. As such, it is well suited to low frequency applications. It also has a wide common-mode input range of 0V to Vcc-2. It operates from a single +5V supply and draws only 4mA of quiescent current. The input common-mode range of the device extends to within 1.5V of the negative supply rail.
