The IR3522MTRPBF is a very versatile device that can be used to implement many different DC/DC applications. Working Principle
The IR3522MTRPBF features a half-bridge topology in its DC/DC controller which delivers higher power density than a classical half-bridge circuit. This controller regulates its output current to hold the internal pulse-width modulation (PWM) voltage value. The MOSFET gate drive supplies two independent symmetrical drives for two complementary MOSFETs connected in a half-bridge configuration. To reduce total conduction and switching losses, the output voltage is sensed with a top-side or bottom-side resistor.
The IR3522MTRPBF integrates two main functional blocks: the current mode control, which provides dynamic line and load compensation and fast dynamic loop response, and the start-up, which activates the current mode controls and begins the normal PWM operation. An internal soft start circuit is included to limit both the input and output current surges, as well as output voltage overshoot. The IR3522MTRPBF includes an under-voltage lockout (UVLO) circuit and an active burst mode, which further increases efficiency by reducing the converter standby current.
The IR3522MTRPBF also provides the comprehensive safety function, including Frequency Jump Start (FJS), Cycle-by-Cycle Over Current Protection (OVP), Hiccup Mode Over Voltage Protection (HiccupOVP) and SOA Protection, for improved reliability and system protection.
