IRU1015CMTR application field and working principle
IRU1015CMTR is a low-power, low-cost linear voltage regulator available in a small SOT-89 package. It is a monolithic integrated circuit designed for voltage regulation and provides easy and accurate setting of both output voltage and output current. This regulator is suitable for a variety of applications including computer systems, telecommunications and data processing equipment, automotive and automotive electronics, industrial electronics, and instrumentation.The IRU1015CMTR regulates both the positive and the negative input in this way, it can be used for both power supply and battery power. The adjustable voltage output of the regulator will range between 8V and 25V with a current range between 100mA and 5A depending on the applied voltage and its own internal circuitry.The IRU1015CMTR works by comparing the reference voltage and the output voltage at the pass transistor. A voltage divider circuit is used to divide the input voltage and a reference voltage, and then the resulting sum is applied to the pass transistor. The reference voltage is determined by the position of an external voltage-setting resistor and is applied to one side of the comparator. The other side of the comparator receives the output voltage from the output.When the output voltage rises above the reference voltage, the comparator drives the pass transistor, causing current to flow out of the load and across the load line, thus lowering the output voltage. Similarly, when the output voltage falls below the reference voltage, the comparator drives the pass transistor, causing current to flow inward across the load line, thus raising the output voltage.The IRU1015CMTR features a low-dropout voltage and temperature stability, low standby current, fast transient response, and low input and output noise. It also has adjustable voltage output, a built-in short-circuit current limit, current limiting, and thermal shutdown.In addition, the IRU1015CMTR has a wide input voltage range and can be used to regulate a variety of voltage sources, such as alternating current, direct current, batteries, and generator output. Its low-dropout voltage ensures that it can regulate even low input voltages without losing efficiency.The IRU1015CMTR is an ideal solution for a variety of electronics projects and applications where reliable low-voltage regulation is required.
