The IRU1208CSTR is an advanced voltage regulator designed to replace linear regulators and other inefficient power supplies in a variety of applications. It combines the performance benefits of a switching regulator and the input/output controllability of a linear regulator into a power supply system. The IRU1208CSTR is a three-phase buck converter with an integrated switch, a current-mode pulsewidth modulation (PWM) control system, and a low quiescent current over-voltage/over-current protection circuit. An internal compensation network ensures accurate feedback control. The switching frequency of the regulator can be adjusted to optimize efficiency, reduce component size and cost, or minimize the noise profile.

The regulator has an adjustable output voltage between 0.8V and 3.2V and the output voltage can be externally adjusted. The device achieves high efficiency of up to 95% over a wide input voltage range. The PWM control system enables fast transient response and excellent performance in light load operation.
