ISD1416PI Working Principle

ISD1416PI is composed of a microphone, amplifier, A/D converter, timer and a programmable nonvolatile E2PROM memory. When recording, the incoming analog signals from the microphone are amplified and then converted into digital recording by the ADC. These digital signals are first written into a temporary buffer and then are written into the non-volatile E2PROM memory after the recording is complete.

When playing, the digital recording signals are read from the memory and then converted into analog by the DAC according to the timer control. The analog signals are amplified and sent out through the amplifier and speaker.
