The ISL28486EVAL1Z evaluation board is specifically designed for engineers to evaluate and compare the performance and features of the ISL/P TL28486 device -- an operational amplifier with Rail-to-Rail input/output.
Application Field of the ISL28486EVAL1Z
The ISL28486EVAL1Z evaluation board is most commonly used in a wide variety of amplifying applications that include buffered gain blocks, low noise applications, current sensing and current sources, voltage followers, current fans, integrated data converters and RF amplifiers. Working Principle of the ISL28486EVAL1Z
The ISL28486EVAL1Z evaluation board is based on the ISL/P TL28486 device that is a high performance, single-channel rail-to-rail input/output, zero-offset bias current, low distortion, low power, and low-bias current operational amplifier. The device features a 0.1 MHz gain bandwidth product and low 1.2 Hz THD, and is capable of operating from a single 3.3V supply.
The ISL28486EVAL1Z evaluation board is configured as a two-stage inverting amplifier and features an adjustable gain and bandwidth control as well as a current-based overload detection and indication circuit. The adjustable components on the board include a dual-in-line adjustable gain resistor that is used to set the gain of the amplifier. The power supply pins of the device are also connected to a two-terminal supply connector for adjustable supply voltage. Additionally, a large copper-clad ground plane, which is connected to the input and output pins, provides a reference ground plane for any external circuitry, shields the board from external electromagnetic radiation, and acts as a heat sink.
Additionally, the ISL28486EVAL1Z evaluation board features on-board current sensing, power supply and ground detection, and an adjustable gain. An on-board analog-to-digital converter is used to display the voltage across the sense resistor and to measure the current in the output circuit. The on-board current-based overload detection and indication circuit consists of a LED which is connected to the 9th terminal of the device. This terminal is connected to a logic circuit which is able to detect excessive current in the output and turn on the LED when an excessive current is detected in the output.
