Working Principle

The ISL3160EIBZ operates in two major modes, transmit and receive. In transmit mode, the device transmits information on the RF output through a transmit mixer stage and power amplifier. The power amplifier, linearized and controlled via the on-chip power supply, is capable of operating up to 17dBm. In receive mode, the device converts the incoming RF signal to an I/Q baseband signal that is digitized by the on-chip analog-to-digital converter.

The ISL3160EIBZ also features a built-in frequency synthesizer, which can be programmed for any frequency in the range of 868 MHz to 960 MHz. The frequency synthesizer enables fine tuning of the transmission frequency and makes the tuning process simpler and faster.
