ISL6558CB-T is a comprehensive device for multiple solutions for integrating DC-DC solutions in compact designs. It is a part of PMIC - Voltage Regulator – DC/DC Switching Controller family, with several features and functions integrated into a small 65-pin CSBGA (Flat No-Lead) package. This device can be used in many fields from consumer and automotive applications to industrial high-voltage applications. It features several features that improve efficiency and reduce board space requirements for the designer.The main components of the ISL6558CB-T are an internal oscillator, an ON/OFF enable pin, an overvoltage sensing and overcurrent sensing, a power switch with adjustable current limit, a 3.3V-15V input voltage, an output voltage range of 1.2V to 14V, an adjustable current limit up to 6A, a soft start and shutdown, and an adjustable frequency range. The output current can be set in increments of 0.2A. The device also has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C and is ideal for use in high temperature environments. Its low-power mode reduces power consumption at no load and has a high dedicated efficiency of 75%.In terms of working principle, the ISL6558CB-T uses Pulse-Width-Modulation (PWM) to control the operation of a power switch.
