The ISL83086EIB is a multi-channel, low-voltage differential-signaling (LVDS) transceiver integrated circuit (IC) from Intersil Corporation. It is designed for digital data communications in LVDS applications. This transceiver can support data rates as high as 3.2Gbps for a long transmission distance. It is applicable in various analog, digital HDTV and embedded applications, such as laptop LCD display ports, HDTV, touch screen, and projector systems.

The ISL83086EIB has a half-duplex, differential-pair serial transceiver that supports LVDS signals. It has a differential input and output impedance up to 200Ω. Working Principle:

The working principle behind the ISL83086EIB is based on the differential signaling process. LVDS utilizes a pair of wires, each with its own voltage modulation, to represent a single logical signal. This pair of wires is called a differential pair. The differential signal helps reduce the crosstalk interference between two adjacent differential pairs. This is done by taking the difference between the two voltages of the differential pair and using that difference to drive the signal.

On the receive side, the differential receiver receives the LVDS signal from the transmission and recovers the original signal.

The ISL83086EIB also includes an auto-equalization circuit to automatically adjust the LVDS signal output in response to the changing load conditions. This reduces the need for manual adjustments when operating in different environments. In addition, there are also integrated edge rate control and slew rate control circuits which can be used to adjust signal rise and fall times, helping prevent signal reflections and interference.
