ISL9011IRJBZ is a high-efficiency, low-Iq, low-dropout linear regulator designed to deliver up to 1.2A of output current. It is primarily intended for applications requiring an ultra-low quiescent current, enabling long battery lifetimes. The device is housed in an 8-pin, very thin (VDFN) and 2mmx3mm package and uses a unique foldback compensation feature for load currents above 250mA providing very low output voltage ripple and fast transient response. Suitable applications for ISL9011IRJBZ include high-efficiency point-of-load (POL) converters, battery charger IC regulators, post BTC regulators, and RFPA carriers.

The ISL9011IRJBZ is an LDO (low drop-out) linear regulator with a wide input voltage range of 2.2V to 18V and an output voltage of 0.8V to 5.0V. It supports up to 1.2A output current with very low 1µA of quiescent (no load) current. The device also has an on-chip foldback current limit that reduces output current as the input voltage is increased. The working principle of the ISL9011IRJBZ is simple. It is also protected against reverse current flow by an internal Schottky diode to the ground. Finally, the device also has an Off-It-Deactivation feature which disables the regulation section of the device when not in use.
