The working principle of the JAN1N4454-1 is that when the anode voltage is higher than the cathode voltage, current will flow through the diode to the cathode. This is known as the forward-bias direction. When the cathode voltage is higher than the anode voltage, current will not pass through the diode, and the diode is said to be in the reverse-bias direction. This is known as the "blocking" direction of the diode, since it prevents current from being passed through it.

The JAN1N4454-1 is suitable for a wide range of applications that require high reliability, such as motor controls and power supplies. The device can be used for rectification and signal conversion for various electronic devices such as LED drivers, DC/DC converters and power supplies. Additionally, the component is suitable for use in AC/DC switching power supplies and AC motor drives.
