Working Principle

This signal relay is designed to switch small current circuits with a maximum RMS voltage rating of 24 Vdc and a maximum switching current of 2 amperes. It has a full range switching current of 0.5 A~2 A. The relay is designed with two poles and has a built-in pair of electromagnets that help in auto resetting and latching the contacts of the circuit.

When a voltage is applied to the relay, the current that passes through the electromagnets polarizes the contact plate of the device, thus opening the contacts. When the current stops, the contacts close again. This sequence is known as the latching and unlatching process.

The two auxiliary contacts in this signal relay are used to monitor and control the state of the main contact, enabling the device to be monitored when it is in either the open or closed state. This feature is useful for applications where safety is an important factor.
