The KA75420ZTA is a multi-function power management IC which provides a range of power management functions. It consists of four basic blocks: Voltage Monitor, Over-Current Protection, Over-Temperature Protection and Circuit Protection. The voltage monitor section of the KA75420ZTA is used for detecting input supply voltages above or below user-defined levels. It then sends an appropriate signal pattern to the corresponding load control module. When the input voltage goes above or below the specified voltage level, the module triggers a fault condition and responds to the fault accordingly. The current over-temperature detector module is used for detecting operating temperatures above the user-defined limits. It then sends appropriate signaling pattern to the load control module, which then responds to the fault condition accordingly.The over-current protection module is used for monitoring the current passing through the power supply. When current exceeds the user-defined levels, the module sends a signaling pattern to the corresponding load control module and the load control module responds to the fault condition appropriately. Lastly, the circuit protection module provides protection against short-circuits and over-voltage conditions. In case of short-circuits or over-voltage conditions, the module sends a signaling pattern to the corresponding load control module and the load control module responds to the fault condition appropriately.Conclusion
