The KS8995M-EVAL is based on the Marvell 8695M Network Integration Platform (NIP) and the KVM supports the Marvell 8695M chip. It is designed with the Marvell 8695M processor with a Cortex-A17 dual-core CPU running at up to 1.2GHz and a Mali-400MP4C GPU running at 600MHz. It also includes the Marvell 88E1543 PHY (Physical Layer) for 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet, two USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. The Marvell 8695M Network Integration Platform (NIP) architecture supports up to 12 10/100/1000Base-T ports, two NAND Flash ports, two SATA ports and an SD card slot.

The KS8995M-EVAL can be used in a wide range of applications including but not limited to testing, evaluation, network monitoring/protocol performance measurement, manufacturing line testing, and quality assurance. For example, it can be used to measure the latency and throughput of a variety of network protocols including TCP, IP, ICMP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, and SNMP. The KS8995M-EVAL can also be used to measure the performance of routers, switches, storage systems, access points, and layer 2 switches.

The KS8995M-EVAL works on the basis of a two-phase evaluation and demo process. Firstly, the engineer must set up the desired network topology, either a physical network or a virtual one. The desired application set up and protocols to test are then configured for the KS8995M-EVAL. This is followed by the execution of the demonstration and evaluation. During the demo phase, real-time traffic is sent through the set up network and the performance of the application is monitored. This is done in order to evaluate the performance of the application and identify areas that need improvement. In the evaluation phase, all the measurements taken from the demo phase are used to make a report on the system\'s performance.
