KSZ8851SNL Application Field and Working Principle

Working Principle

The working principle of the KSZ8851SNL is based on a unique method of transmission called Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection (CSMA/CD. Each device on the network has a unique identifying address, and each transmission is preceded by a Request-To-Send (RTS) signal that specifies the intended receiver by address. Collisions are detected and dealt with using an algorithm called Random Backoff Algorithm. The KSZ8851SNL supports this algorithm.
