KU terminal blocks with barriers, mostly also called KU2, are used for wiring cablings in electrical and electronical installations. The design of KU2 terminal blocks allows easy installation, connection and disconnection of wires. The special feature of KU2 terminal blocks is that they feature barriers to separate low voltage from higher voltage in order to prevent interference. Thereby it is ensured a safety connection between electric wires.
The KU2 series is made of tin-plated brass with silver-plated lines, and works in an ambient temperature of up to 70°C. In terms of insulation of the lines, the KU2 terminal block possess an insulation voltage of 800V and a primary degree of protection is 2kV. Its contact resistance is ≤10mΩ and the rated current is 32A. The KU2 terminal block also comes with a contact-group capacity of 12~24.
The basic working principle of a KU2 terminal block is as follows. When installing the KU2 terminal block, the electrical wires are first cut to the proper length. The wires are then stripped, and the strands of the wires are intertwined before inserting them into the terminal block. Make sure that the strands of the wires are beneath the screw, because the screws will clamp on the strands of the wires, thus providing a safe electrical secure connection. Finally, the screw on the terminal block is tightened to affix the connection.
In conclusion, KU2 terminal blocks with barriers are often used in electrical and electronic installations in order to prevent interference and ensure safety. The KU2 series offers insulation voltage of 800V and has a contact-group capacity of 12~24, among many other features. The basic operating principle of KU2 terminal blocks is explained in simple steps.
