Working Principle:

The KX220-1072 is a MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) accelerometer, allowing it to measure acceleration when exposed to force. It works by using the Coriolis Effect and a differential capacitor structure which measures the acceleration in three axis (X, Y, & Z). When the device is subjected to a force, two of the proof masses are displaced, creating an imbalance in the differential capacitor structure. This imbalance is detected by the electronics in the sensor, and from this measurement, acceleration and inclination can be determined.
