The L4936N is a low drop voltage regulator (LDVR) from STMicroelectronics that is generally used to power devices from 2.9V to 5V. The regulator is able to provide up to 2A of current, making it ideal for a variety of applications. It is available in two versions; the L4936N-D and the L4936N-E, which have different maximum output voltages. The typical voltage drop across the regulator is 0.55V. The operating principle of the L4936N is based on linear voltage regulation. This type of regulator compares the reference voltage, VREF, with the output voltage, VOUT, and adjusts its output accordingly through a series of feedback loops. The reference voltage is usually set externally by a resistive voltage divider network. During normal operation, the L4936N adjusts its output voltage so that it is equal to the reference voltage.
