    • The L5994A is a family of low-side, synchronous DC-DC switcher controllers. It is part of STMicroelectronics\' Smart Embedded Power Solutions portfolio and addresses the need for reliable DC-DC conversion in higher power systems. This family of integrated power ICs is the most efficient, simplest to design and easiest to troubleshoot solution, which gives designers flexibility and reliability to address the needs of their personal computing, datacenter and telecom application environments.
    • The L5994A DC-DC switching controllers provide a complete solution for managing the multiple tasks of a digital power system. It offers up to 1.12A for digital and 0.4A for analog currents in both step-down and non-inverting buck-boost topologies. The switcher IC integrates a one-time programmable (OTP) CPU, four output drivers, an integrated phase-lock-loop (PLL) and a 4-bit current pre-calibration for ease of implementation. Pre-programmed programs for up to 12V output accept digital or pulse-width modulated (PWM) input signals and a comprehensive set of premade and configurable default templates. Its high power yield is achieved through a combination of high efficiency, low inductor ripple current and low output noise. The integrated PLL offers best-in-class phase accuracy, allowing the IC to operate at frequencies up to 1.2MHz, considerably reducing conversion losses associated with high frequency switching.
    • The L5994A\'s flexibility and low external component count allow designers to reduce their time-to-market, while its unique current pre-calibration greatly simplifies board layout and design. It is also enhanced with a variety of additional features, such as synchronous rectification, programmable soft-start, output voltage tracking, and power-good signal.
