The L7924CV is a monolithic linear voltage regulator component of the Low-Drop Positive Fixed Voltage Regulator series, which forms part of Texas Instruments’ family of Positive Regulators. It is used for a variety of applications, in both commercial and military platforms.

The component’s application field covers current up to 1A, additionally offering a wide input voltage range. The L7924CV\'s primary feature is its low drop-out voltage regulator, always working at around 250mV and with a maximum of 350mV. The main operating principle is based on the means of keeping a voltage in the voltage reference pin to stay constant despite the fluctuations of the input voltage, regardless of whether it is coming from the input or going down to the output. This is done with a combination of the two transistors described above.

Finally, the whole process is completed with protective diodes, necessary to protect the device from an overload, added to the safe use of the component and its output.
