The LB11620T-TLM-E is a low power (6.5V to 27V) Motor Driver and Controller, designed specifically for use in a wide variety of applications. The LB11620T-TLM-E features integrated current-mode motor control, high-speed PWM operation and high efficiency operation up to 96%, a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, adjustable/programmable over current protection and thermal shutdown protection. The LB11620T-TLM-E can be used for controlling permanent magnet stepper (PM) and brushless DC (BLDC) motors. It supports two of the most popular interface standards for motor applications: step and direction or pulse and direction. The step and direction interface is used to control the rotation of a motor, and is mainly used in PM motors. The pulse and direction interface is mainly used in BLDC motors, and is used to control the speed of the motor. The LB11620T-TLM-E can control two independent motors (driving 2 brush/brushless DC motors or 2 PM motors) and supports a wide range of power management features to provide high efficiency, low power consumption and low EMI. It contains a built-in logic level shift circuit to allow the motor interface to operate at the same voltage as the motor. The LB11620T-TLM-E is capable of operating in both forward and reverse directions, and also contains a built-in over temperature protection circuit and a current sense circuit to detect changes in the motor\'s current. The LB11620T-TLM-E\'s motor control algorithm is comprised of a digital motor control unit, a high speed pulse widdth modulation (PWM) unit, an interpolator and a power section. The digital motor control unit is responsible for controlling the motor speed, direction, and position. It is also responsible for controlling the operation of the PWM unit, which is responsible for generating the pulse width modulation pulse signals for controlling the motor. The interpolator is responsible for generating a fixed number of PWM pulses for each step of the motor. It works by calculating the duration of each PWM pulse, based on the motor\'s speed, direction and current position. The power section is responsible for providing the power to the motor, as well as carrying out over-temperature protection and current monitoring.
