With a breakdown voltage rating of 26V, LC17A diodes can be used in circuits with a much higher voltage, further widening its application scope. Furthermore, LC17A diodes have a very low leakage current. This usually stays beneath 1μA, so it is unlikely that any unwanted or excessive current will pass through it, thus eliminating the chances of any accidental sparking or other sudden issues.

On the downside, LC17A diodes make up for their impressive performance with a rather hefty price tag. Despite being one of the best available transil diodes, LC17A cannot replace the current standard for transil diodes, mainly because of its expensive cost.

All in all, LC17A TVS diodes can be deemed as one of the best transil diodes available, as it offers excellent surge protection with a low operating voltage and a rather high ESD breakdown voltage.
